Implementing a new component content management system (CCMS) is a significant undertaking, and we understand the importance of getting it right.
With more than 15 years of experience in the content management industry, our teams are experts in helping organizations transition not only to new technology tools, but also to new content strategies and processes. We understand that each partner is unique, and our tailored implementation plans outline the entire onboarding process, from analysis of goals and existing content, to change management strategies and content clean-up plans, to ongoing maintenance, measurement and governance. At Xyleme, we’re here to help — every step of the way.
It is critical to understand the goals of the migration effort as well as complete audit of all legacy content. Our on-boarding teams work closely with each partner to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their unique needs, goals, and existing resources from the start.
Once a clear understanding of the project goals and scope has been established, our teams will build out a custom migration plan for each partner. This involves identifying roles and resources, defining a content model and understanding the level of effort required by each team, and then testing and verifying the plan before beginning migration.
When implementing a new CCMS, you will likely need to rebuild much of your existing content as individual components in the new platform. Any existing stand-alone assets (images, videos, etc.) will also be uploaded to Xyleme's centralized content repository. We recommend starting with core content that has high reuse potential, and expanding from there. Our onboarding team will work with you to build a reuse strategy that makes sense for your organization.
Change management is a critical component of any LCMS migration, which is why we provide comprehensive, hands-on, tailored on-boarding and training to ensure a successful and efficient transition. Our LCMS experts provide teams with an accurate and actionable understanding of the similarities and differences between the new and old systems, such as authoring rules, permissions and assignments structures, and publishing and distribution best practices.
We understand the technology is only part of the solution. We work with each organization to identify and map existing content and data management policies and processes, and to determine a future-state plan to incorporate the changes and realignments necessary for success in the organization's new content management ecosystem. Our teams specialize in helping partners navigate this major organizational change by engaging appropriate team members, executives and stakeholders to determine and define future-state goals and come to agreement regarding improved standards and any necessary changes to governance policies.
Moving to a new LCMS platform is a significant change for any organization, and one that should be celebrated! But it's not over once migration is complete - it's important to monitor and measure new content management processes to ensure appropriate adoption and implementation over the long term. Xyleme's services and support teams are available to help partners (both new and established) continue to refine and improve their processes, and to troubleshoot new issues as they arise.
Xyleme is the only unified solution for content authoring, management, delivery, personalization, and syndication at scale.
