LX Design Conference
May 15 – 19, 2017
The LX Conference is the first online conference dedicated to learning experience design. Learning experience design (LX Design) is the emerging practice of using user experience, service design or human-centred design methods in education and training. Anyone who designs and provides learning experiences is increasingly dealing with more technology, more opportunity but also more complexity. What does learning design mean in the age of mentoring, gamification and personalisation? Is an online course always the answer? It can be a real challenge to ensure you design an experience that suits your learners while at the same time not falling into the trap of just “doing what we’ve always done.” To cope with this, we are seeing a new hybrid practice emerge, learning experience design (LX Design). Design thinking and user experience design are just two new skills that learning experience designers need, says Dr. Jess Knott, LXer Extraordinaire. This conference will provide starting points for those skills and more.

Learning & Leadership Development 2017 Conference
September 18-20, 2017
Chicago Marriott Downtown
540 N. Michigan Ave.
Chicago, Illinois 60611
We ask a lot from our leaders. Because most are promoted based on their achievements, seniority, or desire to advance in the organization, often there is little consideration given for their competencies in leadership skills and managing people. Effective leaders are no longer the “smartest people in the room” but are those who drive collaboration, coordinate workflows, and motivate the smartest people to their full potential. Learning design and real-time access to information has never been more important in driving the organization forward. Curating relevant and timely information in combination with effective leadership coaching provides a solid basis for any organization to become agile and ready for a changeable marketplace. This specialized conference will address the challenges of change, shifting culture, content curation and new leadership criteria and development — the critical parts every organization needs to compete in today’s marketplace.
