XYLEME XML SERVER PERFORMANCE |
|||||||
|
High Scalability and AvailabilityXyleme Server's distributed architecture provides high scalability and flexibility. It can run on one or more physical machines and lets users gradually increase system capacity without interrupting activity. Xyleme performance remains fast regardless of the amount of content or number of concurrent queries. This architectural flexibility allows organizations to find the right trade-off between data volume and physical resources. Queries can run over any or all machines in a Xyleme Server system. Pipeline evaluation ensures high performance and “first answers fast.” Xyleme also uses an innovative technology to compress indices and maximize memory. On average, the rate of compression for Xyleme Server is about 80% compared to an expansion of 500-700% for most relational database systems. This feature enables an in-memory persistent index, contributing to sub-second response times. Xyleme uses a n-tiered architecture to eliminate performance degradation when there is a high number of simultaneous users. Xyleme Server also provides for concurrent load and query. Loading documents when the system is active does not impact performance. Loaded data is immediately ready for query meaning that time sensitive, mission critical information is never lost or delayed.
