XYLEME XML SERVER LOAD FUNCTIONALITY |
|||||||
|
Schema IndependenceXyleme Server totally eliminates the need for pre-defined content structures. It accepts any well-formed XML into the document repository, preserving all structures and hierarchies without the need to normalize or shred content. As a result, changes to the environment are completely transparent. This capability provides superior flexibility for exploitation and manipulation and allows businesses to adapt to changes on-the-fly. In-Memory IndexXyleme Server provides a sophisticated memory-resident index resulting in rapid response times. The system automatically indexes everything at load time, including terms and their contexts. The difficult and time-consuming task of manually indexing relations is eliminated, meaning that information needs no longer have to be known in advance. Indexing parameters can also be customized according to unique search requirements, including “indexing by exclusion.” In addition, unlike a relational database whose index expands storage requirements by a factor of 5 to 7 times, Xyleme's sophisticated algorithm actually reduces the size of the index. This allows the index to be cached in memory for real-time query access with minimum latency, resulting in superior performance. Element Level UpdatesXyleme Server updates XML documents and their structures at an element level. Changes can be made to content or the XML schema without having to reload the entire document. With this approach, updates are highly efficient, particularly with large volumes of data. Back to Xyleme XML Server page. |
